Little Did I Know This Would Become One of Our Most-Loved Pieces

Little did I know that a simple decision would become one of the most loved products at Arras. When we first started working with our weavers in Assam, an Eri silk scarf was one of the first pieces we sourced.

At the time, I wasn't sure. Would people buy a scarf? Would someone choose a smaller piece of silk instead of a saree? I had always loved Eri silk, but I didn't know if others would connect with it the same way.

Then something unexpected happened.

People loved them. The scarves became one of our best-selling pieces.

Over time, I started understanding why.

A saree is beautiful, but it also requires a certain occasion, a certain moment.

A scarf is different.

It quietly becomes part of everyday life.

It travels with you. It sits on your desk at work. It comes along on journeys. It keeps you comfortable during a cool evening or in an overly air-conditioned room.

It becomes something you reach for without thinking.

Why Eri Silk Scarves Make Such Meaningful Gifts

One of the reasons people love our Eri silk scarves is because they make such thoughtful gifts.

Finding a gift can be difficult.

Clothing often requires knowing the right size. Jewellery can be very personal. Home décor depends on someone's taste.

A scarf is a little different.

It is easy to gift, easy to wear, and carries a story.

It is not just another accessory.

It is a piece of handwoven textile made by artisans in Assam.

A Gift With a Story Behind It

Eri silk has always felt special to me because it represents so much more than the final product.

The journey begins with artisans who have inherited weaving skills through generations.

Each scarf carries the small details of that process — the texture, the weave, and the human touch behind it.

These little variations are what remind us that it was made by someone, not simply produced by a machine.

Why People Love Wearing Eri Silk

Eri silk has a quiet beauty.

It does not have the high shine of many traditional silks.

Instead, it has a soft, natural texture that feels comfortable against the skin.

It is:

  • breathable
  • lightweight
  • soft to touch
  • easy to wear across seasons

It works beautifully for everyday moments — not just celebrations.

A Gift That Keeps Being Used

Over time, these scarves have also become a favourite for thoughtful gifting.

We have created special orders of Eri silk scarves for corporate gifting — pieces chosen to celebrate milestones, thank clients, and share something meaningful with teams and partners.

A handwoven scarf is more than just a gift.

It carries a story of Assam, artisan craftsmanship, and the time taken to create something by hand.
