Pure Eri- Tussar Silk Mekhela Sador | 'Mising' Tribe Motifs | Muticoloured
The traditional outfit of Assam, India consists of two pieces: the mekhela, a skirt that’s wrapped around and tucked into the petticoat, and the sador, a long drape that brings grace to the ensemble.
This Ahimsa and Tassar silk blend mekhela sador has been handwoven on traditional looms. The silk has been woven in its natural golden colour. The motifs have been woven using cotton yarn.
The 'Mising' tribe of Assam is renowned for their ability to coordinate colour patterns on the handloom. Common patterns include diamonds, stripes, and zig-zags, each woven with precision to create a visually striking design.
