Savouring Simple Moments This Valentine’s Day in Delhi

Are you for or against celebrating Valentine’s Day? All my life, I’ve gone against this holiday—but no matter where I go, every brand is putting out promotions for this day. I’ve never focused on specific days, whether it’s Valentine’s or Mother’s Day. After all, why do we need a single day to celebrate love?
Valentine’s Day can also be especially hard if you’ve gone through a recent breakup. So, where are you this year? Whether you’re celebrating, ignoring it, or just getting through the day, the weather is nice in Delhi right now. We only get a couple of months each year to step outside and enjoy the sun. Soak in some powerful energy, breathe in the fresh air (somewhat), and feel a sense of renewal by savouring the simple things life has to offer. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate love in a more relaxed, thoughtful way, here are a few ideas to make this Valentine’s Day special in Delhi.
1. A Cosy Breakfast at Home
There’s something intimate about starting the day slowly. Make the start of the day as beautiful as you can- brew a pot of coffee or tea, set the table with your favourite placemats, and enjoy a homemade breakfast. Whether it’s fresh fruit and toast or a full spread, taking time to sit together without distractions is a quiet luxury.
2. A Leisurely Walk in Lodhi Garden
Pack a light snack and head to Lodhi Garden for a peaceful stroll among centuries-old tombs and lush greenery. The winter sun in February makes it the perfect time to soak in Delhi’s beauty without the rush of everyday life. When I first moved to Delhi, I used to live near Lodhi Garden and used to head there for evening walks every day with a friend. I still have fond memories of the time I spent with her just taking in nature and talking about random stuff.
3. Exploring the Mughal Museum at Sunder Nursery
For a mix of history and nature, visit Sunder Nursery and check out the newly opened Mughal Museum. Nestled within the heritage park, it showcases Mughal-era artefacts and offers a glimpse into Delhi’s rich past. I’ve been meaning to explore it ourselves—maybe I’ll see you there!
4. Late-Night Chai & Drive
End the day with a late-night drive through Delhi’s beautifully lit streets. Stop by a local tea stall for a quiet cup of chai, watching the city wind down. Sometimes, the best moments are the ones where you’re simply alone, with no agenda but to enjoy your own company. Sit alone with your thoughts and love yourself for how far you've come in life.
that capture the essence of renewal, energy, and embracing life’s simple joys. Whether it's the warmth of the sun, a fresh start, or simply appreciating the present, each track brings a sense of optimism and possibility—perfect for soaking in the season’s uplifting energy.
